Service information updated October 13, 2026: the game-alert description below now reflects the restricted notification service. The other terms are unchanged. This update does not enable notifications or treat an existing session as new agreement.
2nd screen is a sports-focused social app operated by Welkin Labs PBC (“we,” “us”). These terms cover our app at 2ndscreen.app, our website at 2ndscreen.social, and the sports, verification, and account-hosting services we operate. These terms apply to the beta; availability may differ by invitation, device, and release. Our Community Guidelines and Copyright & intellectual property policy form part of these terms. The Privacy Policy explains our information practices; it is not a request for blanket consent.
1. Using 2nd screen
You must be at least 16 and meet any higher age requirement that applies where you live or to your account provider. If you are not legally able to enter this agreement on your own, a parent or legal guardian must agree on your behalf and supervise your use. Do not misrepresent your age or bypass age or content restrictions.
You may use 2nd screen only if doing so is lawful. When acting for an organization, you must have authority to bind it. By signing in, creating an account, or continuing to use a feature after being shown notice that these terms apply, you agree to them. If you do not agree, stop using that feature. Merely visiting a policy page does not record your acceptance, and publishing these terms does not retrospectively establish agreement by existing users.
2. Your account and the open network
2nd screen is an independent application using the AT Protocol. It is not Bluesky, a sports league, a team, or a broadcaster. Your account is hosted by the provider you choose. That provider, Bluesky’s network services, and independent feeds and moderation services have their own rules. Using 2nd screen does not replace those agreements or transfer your account to us.
The app currently uses Bluesky’s social content service, which supplies posts, profiles, feeds, and search. On the AT Protocol, this kind of service is called an “AppView.” Bluesky’s restrictions and moderation labels can affect what appears in 2nd screen, alongside applicable regional moderation, your content settings, and other moderation services you select. This remains true if your account is hosted on our server. We do not operate Bluesky’s service or decide its moderation outcomes.
Keep your credentials secure and use only accounts you are entitled to control. Contact your hosting provider about account recovery or unauthorized access, and tell us if the problem concerns 2nd screen. We cannot promise recovery of an account held elsewhere. Where we offer you an invitation to our account host, pds.2ndscreen.social, these terms also govern that hosting. We process your account information, public repository, and identity/signing keys to run it. This limited beta requires an invitation and currently disables image and video uploads to our host. A 2nd screen domain handle does not convey affiliation with a team or rights to a name. Account hosting does not guarantee inclusion in another provider’s feeds or search results.
Public network records can be copied by other services. Changing or deleting a record at its source cannot guarantee that every recipient deletes its copies. Muting someone or limiting visibility in one app does not make a public record confidential.
3. Your posts, media, and rights
You keep your rights in material you contribute. You must have the rights or a valid legal basis to share it, including any necessary permissions from people depicted. Posting a clip, adding commentary, or crediting a broadcaster does not by itself give you permission to redistribute a game. No fixed number of seconds automatically makes a clip lawful. Broadcast rights, music rights, privacy and publicity rights, venue or ticket restrictions, and rules for filming minors may also apply. Fair use and other legal exceptions depend on the circumstances. Do not remove rights-management information, defeat access controls, or use our service to distribute unauthorized live streams.
For material you submit through our services, you give us a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to copy, cache, transmit, format, and display it to provide those services, support the sharing you request, and address security, moderation, and legal obligations. We may authorize service providers to do those things for us only for those purposes. This license does not transfer ownership, authorize unrelated advertising use of your likeness, or override the privacy of a direct message.
The license ends when the material is no longer needed for those purposes, subject to limited retention for legal obligations, disputes, security, and technically necessary cache expiry. Copies already shared through the open network remain subject to their recipients’ responsibilities. We do not acquire ownership of third-party posts simply because they appear in a feed.
Our name and brand assets are reserved to us except where permission or law permits use. Open-source components keep their own licenses; these terms do not restrict rights those licenses grant.
4. Sports, feeds, Highlights, and badges
Scores, schedules, viewing information, and conversation feeds can be delayed, incomplete, or wrong. Check the original organizer or broadcaster for authoritative information. Team, league, athlete, and broadcaster names and marks identify the subjects of discussion; they do not imply sponsorship, licensing, or endorsement unless we expressly identify a relationship. We do not grant a license to their footage, marks, or statistics databases. Viewing links lead to third parties, whose subscriptions, territorial restrictions, and terms may apply. 2nd screen does not supply a subscription to watch games and is not a betting, ticketing, or financial service. Do not rely on a score, post, or recommendation for a wager or another financial decision.
“For you,” sports discovery, and Highlights use sports selections and third-party feed sources. Providers can change their ranking and availability. Local viewing history can reduce repeated posts and videos; it does not guarantee an unlimited supply of unseen material. You can select other feeds, manage pins and stars, and use the available moderation controls.
A star indicates that you are a fan. Stars and profile fan-badge selections are public network records. A verification badge describes an identity attestation from its displayed issuer; it is not a guarantee of accuracy, good conduct, endorsement, or employment. A 2nd screen attestation may be corrected or withdrawn. Badges issued by other verifiers remain those verifiers’ responsibility.
Optional notification delivery is restricted to admitted beta accounts. When you enable the service, it stores the selected categories and subscriptions needed to deliver supported alerts, including individual game reminders. Availability and delivery depend on your consent, device permissions and the connected services; see the Privacy Policy for processing and controls. A star or a follow alone is not permission for 2nd screen push delivery. We will explain material changes before introducing paid services or enabling new processing.
5. Conduct and decisions we can make
Follow the Community Guidelines. Do not exploit security weaknesses, disrupt infrastructure, steal credentials, evade rate limits, or use the service for illegal activity. Authorized interoperability, security research, and uses protected by law or an open-source license are not prohibited by this clause.
We may restrict access to services we control, remove our own listings, or withdraw our attestations when reasonably necessary to address violations, legal requirements, or a material safety or security risk. We consider context and severity. Where practicable and lawful, we will explain our action and offer a way to challenge it. Immediate action may be necessary to prevent harm or preserve an investigation.
For accounts currently hosted on our server, we can restrict or suspend hosting, including for conduct through another app. That authority does not extend to accounts hosted elsewhere. Restricting our hosting or a 2nd screen feature is different from removing content from Bluesky’s service or every copy on the network. Our current limits on moderating individual posts are explained in the Community Guidelines.
We cannot suspend an account at an independent host or overturn another provider’s decision. Use the reporting and appeals contacts for the relevant provider. Appealing to us does not waive a court remedy or other complaint right. Referring a matter to another provider does not replace responsibilities the law places on our own services.
6. Ending use and service changes
You can stop using 2nd screen at any time. Signing out or uninstalling does not delete your AT Protocol account or public posts. Use Settings → Account → Delete account, where available, or your host’s deletion process if that is what you intend. Contact our support team for accounts hosted at pds.2ndscreen.social or information we hold separately. We may require identity verification before changing an account. Deleting an account can affect its use in other AT Protocol apps and cannot guarantee erasure of third-party copies or immediate removal from retained backups.
We may change or discontinue features. When reasonably possible, we will give notice of a material discontinuation. We do not promise that feeds, integrations, or beta features will remain available. Rights and obligations that need to continue, including accrued claims, ownership, limited retention, and dispute provisions, survive the end of use.
7. Service limitations and responsibility
To the extent the law permits, the service is provided as available, without a promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure against every attack, or suitable for every purpose. We disclaim implied warranties only where they can lawfully be disclaimed. Third-party material is the responsibility of its provider, without limiting duties the law places on us.
To the extent permitted by law, neither party is liable to the other under these terms for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the agreement was made. Our total liability arising from the service is limited to the greater of US$100 or the amount you paid us for it in the preceding 12 months.
Those limitations do not apply to fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded or limited. Nothing requires you to indemnify us for our own conduct.
8. Disputes and your legal rights
Please contact support@2ndscreen.social so we can try to resolve a concern. Contacting us is not a prerequisite to a legally available remedy and does not pause a filing deadline unless the law or a written agreement provides otherwise.
New York law governs these terms, excluding conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory law gives you other protections. Courts with lawful jurisdiction may hear a dispute. These terms do not impose mandatory arbitration, a class-action waiver, or an exclusive foreign forum on consumers.
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining terms continue where lawful. Failure to enforce a provision once is not a waiver. We may transfer this agreement as part of a business succession only if your mandatory rights remain protected. You may not transfer contractual obligations without our agreement; this does not prevent moving your network account between providers.
9. App stores and software licenses
Apple’s or Google’s distribution and beta-testing terms also apply when you obtain the app through their services. These service terms are with Welkin Labs PBC. They do not replace Apple’s applicable standard app license or TestFlight terms, impose maintenance duties on Apple or Google, or change open-source licenses. Contact us for support concerning 2nd screen.
10. Changes and contact
We will identify the effective date of a revised version and give reasonable advance notice of material changes through the app or website, except where urgent legal or security changes require a shorter period. Where affirmative agreement is required, we will ask for it. Changes do not retrospectively alter an existing dispute.
